This standard applies to disc cutters for cutting sprocket teeth in accordance with GOST 591 for single-row and multi-row drive roller and bushing chains in accordance with GOST 13568 and GOST 21834.
CONTROL AND TEST METHODS
4.1. The appearance of the cutters is controlled using a magnifying glass LP-1-4´ in accordance with GOST 25706.
4.2. The parameters of cutters must be controlled by measuring instruments that have an error of no more than:
when measuring linear dimensions - the values established by GOST 8.051;
when monitoring parameters 2 - 7 clause 2.7 - values established by GOST 17336.
4.3. The roughness parameters of cutter surfaces must be controlled: Rz - on PSS type devices in accordance with GOST 9847, R
a - on profilometers according to GOST 19300.
It is allowed to check the roughness parameters by comparison with control samples that have the values of the roughness parameters specified in clause 2.5, or with surface roughness samples in accordance with GOST 9378. The comparison is carried out using a magnifying glass LP-1-4´ in accordance with GOST 25706.
4.4. Tests of cutters must be carried out on milling machines that meet the standards of accuracy and rigidity established for them.
4.5. The hardness of cutters is controlled according to GOST 9013 using TR type devices according to GOST 23677.
4.6. Milling cutters should be tested on workpieces made of steel grade 45 according to GOST 1050, hardness 170 ... 197 HB.
4.7. Milling cutters are tested to full depth:
in one pass at t
£25.4mm;
in two passes at 25.4 < t
£50.8mm;
in three passes at t
> 50.8 mm.
4.8. Industrial oil 20 A according to GOST 20799 with a flow rate of at least 40 l/min should be used as a cutting fluid.
4.9. Performance tests should be carried out in the modes indicated in table. 4.

4.10. Tests of cutters for performance should be carried out within 10 minutes for a pitch of up to 50.8 mm and 15 minutes for a pitch of more than 50.8 mm.
After testing, the cutter should not have chipped or crumpled cutting edges and should be suitable for further work.
