Characteristics of steel grade 25
Steel 25 is a structural high-quality carbon steel, weldable without restrictions. Welding is carried out without heating and without subsequent heat treatment, methods: manual arc welding, automatic submerged arc welding and gas protection, CTS, ESW.
Use in industry after normalization or without heat treatment for the production of axles, shafts, couplings, pawls, forks, levers, washers, rollers, flanges, tees. Fasteners for boilers and pipelines of thermal power plants, steam, gas and hydraulic turbines are made from it. After chemical-thermal treatment, it is used for the manufacture of gears, screws, bushings, pawls, friction discs, fingers, cam rollers, pushers and other parts that require high surface hardness with low core strength. Not prone to flake sensitivity, no tendency to temper brittleness. Cutting machinability in the hot-rolled state at HB 156 and δB = 460-500 MPa, K υ solid. spl=1.5 and Kυ b.st=1.26. Forging is carried out at temperatures from 1280 to 750 0C, cooling in air. A large assortment of rolled products is produced from steel 25, taking into account the special features of steel grade 25. Forgings from this grade of steel can be made of strength categories only 175, 195, 215, 245 with a forging thickness from 100 to 300 mm. To obtain forgings with a higher strength category, it is necessary to use a different steel. In the production of forgings, blooms or ingots of steel, rolled or forged billets, or billets cast on a continuous casting line and other types of rolled products are used.

Interpretation of steel grade St6sp
Decoding of steel: The letter at the beginning indicates a group of steel which defines the criteria for the ultimate strength for the chemical composition; if there is no letter, then such steel belongs to group A, and is supplied to consumers based on mechanical properties (such steel may have a high sulfur or phosphorus content). Letters St. indicate that the steel is of ordinary quality, although most steels are high quality. The numbers from 0 to 6 are the conventional brand number depending on the chemical composition and mechanical properties. Typically, the higher the number, the more carbon and the greater the strength. In our case, 6 indicates the carbon content in the alloy is 0.38–0.49%. The letters after the brand number indicate the degree of deoxidation: cn - calm. In terms of price, calm steels have become more expensive than semi-calm and boiling steels. Mild steel is steel obtained as a result of deoxidation. It is obtained by deoxidation with aluminum, manganese and silicon. The level of oxygen in it is so reduced that during metal processing no reaction occurs between carbon and oxygen, and the presence of non-metallic slags and their inclusion is reduced to a minimum. Calm steel has a dense structure and good mechanical properties. It is less prone to negative reactions to welding heat and to aging. The features of a homogeneous microstructure give the alloy maximum corrosion resistance and ductility.

Price for steel 6PS
The favorable price for 6PS steel grade is explained by the presence of a competitive environment, low markups and loading from leading metallurgical plants directly, sometimes bypassing storage at transshipment points. Metalpro company bears full responsibility for the chemical composition of the supplied products and guarantees the quality of delivery. The cost of 6PS steel in warehouses in Moscow and the Moscow region is determined by the costs of warehousing and logistics. The Metallpro Company can also supply 6PS steel directly from the metallurgical plant, which gives our partners an advantage to consistently save money and develop their business in a broad format.
The price for 6PS steel is determined personally with each company, monthly needs are individually negotiated and the form of payment is discussed. Warehouse services for custom-made items and logistics to the production site also form the cost of 6PS steel. The Metalpro company maintains an open dialogue personally with each of its clients; each transaction is accompanied by a personal manager from the production stage to the delivery of rolled metal to the customer. Full control at any stage from payment to delivery to the customer’s site gives the latter a complete picture.

Fe is the basis. According to GOST 977-88, the mass fraction of S and P content is indicated for group 1 of castings made of base steel. The content of sulfur and phosphorus in castings of groups 2 and 3, in acid and basic open-hearth steel - see table 4a in GOST 977-88. According to OST 5R.9285-95, in the case of using steel smelted in main electric furnaces as cold-resistant (technical order conditions or drawing requirements), the content of sulfur and phosphorus should be no more than 0.020% each. By agreement between the manufacturer and the developer of OST 5R.9285-95 (TsNII Prometey), the content of sulfur and phosphorus is allowed up to 0.030% each. According to TU 5.961-11151-92 for castings of classes 1 and 2, the mass fraction of cobalt in steel should not exceed 0.20%, and for castings located in the direct irradiation zone - 0.15%.
