Well put together. Good factory settings. The tables were level (now the back table has been removed, the workpieces are being accepted onto the rails). Not very noisy in operation. Lightweight and compact, easy to move. Accurate scale for setting the thickness of the part. It plans quite cleanly, but there is a small step at the end of the workpiece, which can be easily removed by grinding.

I chose the Zubr RS-305 and, in principle, did not regret the purchase. The machine is not bulky, accurate, fast and easy to use, and the boards come out well. True, after some time I had to replace a couple of plastic parts, but I won’t say that this became a particular problem.

I was choosing between Jet and Bison. The choice fell on Zubr. After the purchase, I examined it, looked inside and was satisfied: the assembly was excellent, I just lubricated it additionally. Heavy, of course, for transportation, but it stands like a monolith. The tables were adjusted correctly. When planing, the chips become magnetic and clog the exit hole, so I had to use a stick to move it back and forth while planing so that the chips would not stagnate (with minimal planing).

A simple and easy-to-use thickness planer with a 2 kW motor, designed for processing wooden workpieces to the required thickness, with a flat and smooth surface.

The design is equipped with special holes, thanks to which the device can be mounted on a support to reduce vibration during startup and further use. I bought the machine for a garage workshop, with the understanding that it is a combined machine, and, naturally, it will not provide super quality, like machines of a higher class for a specific task (not combined). Nevertheless, I have no complaints. The assembly is normal, the quality of jointing/thickening is good for my purposes - I don’t work with valuable species, but I think that the quality of working with them will not be ideal, but not bad.

Combined planer-thicknesser machine, combining the functions of a thicknesser and a jointer. Suitable for workshop use and processing workpieces up to 254 mm wide.

Due to the belt drive, the engine does not make much noise during operation, and there is overload protection. After a temporary power outage, restarting is excluded thanks to the installed magnetic starter. I took it for a home workshop, so to speak, for testing, to understand whether it was for me or not. I had to immediately adjust the height of the tables relative to each other. I also adjusted the knives immediately after installation. After the very first pine boards, chips appeared on the knife, and now the stripes are visible during processing. In general, it is possible to work, but not for super precise work.

A stationary machine with retractable workpiece supports for fast and most accurate planing of workpieces in order to obtain the desired thickness and a smooth, even surface. There is a chip removal system, the maximum workpiece depth can be 3 mm.

The model has automatic material feeding at a speed of 6 meters per minute. The engine power is small, 1.5 kW, so this device is not suitable for large volumes of work. However, overload protection is present.

The product is convenient to position thanks to a plate table made of impact-resistant aluminum and having an adjustable tilt stop of up to 45 degrees. It performed quite well at work - a powerful motor, many functions, and I was especially pleased with it. that the machine can be easily reconfigured if the need arises. But still, one drawback became noticeable - the saw blade was not installed quite level (perhaps I was just “lucky”). It is not always convenient to work without markings - they are missing.

In general, the Corvette thicknesser is a very good car, but again, it depends on what you compare it with. The advantages of this machine include the width of the workpiece being processed - 330 mm and the path ejection of sawdust into a directly connected bag. But, alas, the advantages end there - after a couple of weeks the stopper fell apart, the knives turned out to be disposable, and replacing them is quite difficult.

In just over a year, 12 cubic meters of forest. It started to get impudent - it shook the impeller and, as a result, damaged the winding. Rewinded for 2000 with an impeller. Acceptable for me. The disadvantages are weak knives. Especially relatives. Made from a not very high-quality alloy - they don’t even magnetize well. I don’t recommend sharpening the standard ones - they will sag quickly. The new 2500 is enough for 10 cubic meters. If you treat the model carefully, there won’t be many problems with it.

Compact in size thickness planer with simple operation and robust assembly. The model is portable and is well suited for small and medium-sized jobs; it can handle both hard and wet wood.

Overall, to sum up the impressions, they are excellent, despite the existing shortcomings. Of course, this is a fairly simple tabletop machine, but you wouldn’t expect anything else for that kind of money. If you are not too picky and carefully monitor the condition of the mechanisms, then it will work for a long time and without breakdowns. Now I can say with confidence that the main breakdowns were due to “oversight.”

Overall, the Jet JWP-12 is a pretty good machine. It is relatively small, but at the same time fast and, so to speak, hardy - it is not afraid of long-term work. The build is excellent, strong and reliable. True, there were some downsides. The main one is original knives. The very first knot and chips appeared on them. We also had to independently increase the length of the tables, especially at the exit. As a result, I can recommend it, but be prepared for the fact that the machine will have to be slightly upgraded to get the job done.

A popular portable machine for small jobs. It has a good ratio of the power of a light commutator-type engine, high shaft speed for planing and a good speed of automatic feeding of workpieces. The model has a well-thought-out chip removal system, folding tables are made of high quality and are equipped with longitudinal rollers.

If we talk about the advantages, I can note that the surface planer has a good assembly, it vibrates relatively little and works quieter than other analogues, and at the same time it does not heat up. The machine also has a handle that fits very comfortably in the hand and a good case. However, the machine is a bit heavy. I also didn’t like the attachments - they get dull quickly, but other models in this price category are even worse.

I bought a good helper for my dacha - a Belmash P1500 thickness planer. I consider the acquisition very successful and necessary. Since at a sawmill, logs are cut into boards on a band saw and the boards come out to be of different thickness and width. Using a wood lathe, I single-handedly processed 3 cubes of one-inch board during the day. Processing was carried out on both sides. From the resulting board I later made a lining, which was used to cover the ceiling in a house under construction.
