The vacuum drying process is a technology that has been used by large enterprises for quite some time. Even before this, it was actively used in ordinary conditions, where it was in truly great demand. Some explain this demand by the effectiveness of this process, while others are confident that with its help you can achieve the maximum quality of the work performed. Now, we can absolutely say that without the availability of appropriate equipment, it will not be possible to carry out such a process. It is the equipment that makes it possible to create all the favorable conditions for removing liquid from the material; otherwise, this process will be much more difficult to carry out.
Press vacuum drying chamber
The vacuum press drying chamber is one of the most important equipment. Using such vacuum-based dryers, you can at least provide the material with a suitable temperature and a high level of system tightness. Fortunately, now you can find a variety of variations of vacuum drying chambers that can be used to solve a variety of problems. An equally important aspect is the operating principle of vacuum drying chambers, which is in many ways superior to other variations of drying-type equipment. Initially, the material is loaded into the working chamber, where the temperature level is gradually increased, and moisture is extracted from the material placed inside.
Now we will look at the design of a vacuum drying chamber:
- The working chamber contains the material to be processed and the heating plates, which actually carry out this process.
- Heating element - creates an acceptable level of heat during operation. This happens during the process of exposure to thermal rays on the material placed inside the installation.
- Vacuum pump - allows you to give the system additional precision in vacuum control so that it works as stably as possible.
- Thermal insulation system – retains heat and radiation inside the working chamber without releasing it outside.
- Heating plates made of aluminum - placed between layers of wood placed inside the working chamber. During heating, it acts with its heat on the wood, forcing it to get rid of excess moisture.
- Seals and vacuum sensors - allow you to monitor the vacuum level inside the system. At the same time, the seals give the system greater tightness so that the vacuum level does not decrease when solving complex problems.
All these components play a huge role in the system, as they are in full interaction. In addition to these elements, there are also a considerable number of less significant details that are simply not so noticeable. Although in fact, they all play the same role, which actually ensures a high degree of reliability and stability during operation.

Speaking about the use of such cameras, we can safely say that they are in greatest demand in Moscow. Although, you can buy vacuum drying chambers in any other city, and much cheaper. In the capital, the price is determined by the great demand for such equipment. Much in determining the cost depends on which particular variation of vacuum presses we are talking about.

Now we will look at the variations of vacuum drying chambers that are in great demand:
- Convection drying chambers
- Vacuum drying chambers
- Aerodynamic chambers
- Dielectric drying chambers
- Microwave drying chambers
The operating principle of the above cameras differs from each other in many ways, and accordingly, their cost can be completely different. That is why, even before purchasing, you should decide on the camera variation that you need. You should also determine the appropriate price segment in which you can afford to purchase some kind of vacuum dryer.
Now we will look at the price ranges of PVSK vacuum drying chambers:
- Low price segment of the market – 90,000 rubles to 150,000 rubles
- The average price segment of the market is from 150,000 rubles to 300,000 rubles
- High price segment of the market - from 300,000 rubles to 850,000 rubles and above
Based on the price range, you can easily understand how high-quality and versatile the installation will be in use. When purchasing drying chambers for yourself, you need to pay attention to the cost and not buy the first unit you come across. It is advisable to give preference to cameras from the middle range, or low, but as close as possible to the average. In this way, it will be possible to avoid not entirely conscientious manufacturers who create cheap and low-quality equipment in order to earn as much as possible from it.
Press vacuum drying chamber for wood
Chambers for drying lumber, or vacuum drying wood, are often an ordinary container made of stainless steel. Inside, you can see special compartments where the wood is laid in several layers, between which aluminum plates that carry out heating are harmoniously placed. One of the most important components in such systems is considered to be a water pump, which ensures a stable process of water circulation inside the aluminum plates. Due to the active operation of the boiler, it is possible to produce the fastest possible heating. As for the tightness, this is also in complete order. From above, the chamber is closed with a special lid, with various kinds of seals, a silicone membrane and vacuum gauges placed inside the chamber.

After the loading of the material has come to an end, all that remains is to close the lid tightly, which will ensure the system has the maximum level of tightness and density, due to the strong pressure of the upper membrane. In the process of vacuum drying wood, the pressure level inside the working chamber is also considered an important element. If we are talking about the optimal level of pressure and vacuum, then the wood will not succumb to various kinds of deformation, twisting and the like. Accordingly, it is necessary to determine in advance the thickness and type of wood that is placed inside the system. Depending on these parameters, it is necessary to select suitable indicators of temperature, moisture, vacuum and similar parameters for the high-quality completion of the work process.
It is advisable to select material of the same size and homogeneous composition so that the drying result is of the highest quality. Speaking about the operation of press vacuum drying chambers for lumber, in terms of the duration of the operating cycle, this process is one of the fastest. If we are talking about high-quality equipment, suitable conditions and high homogeneity of the material, then such a process will be completed at maximum speed.

The vacuum chamber is designed for drying lumber of softwood and hardwood in a vacuum under a press, and other composite and structural materials with electrical heating in automatic mode to the required humidity of 4 - 8%.
The cameras are manufactured to customer requirements, taking into account the materials used. The supporting body of the chamber is made and the St-3 bath is made of aluminum or stainless steel. It is possible to obtain any material moisture content down to almost 0% with minimal losses. Heating is carried out by special flat electric heaters, which are placed between layers of lumber without gaskets or located along the walls of the chamber. Electric heating with the contact method of heat supply is the most effective, there are practically no losses, all the generated heat goes from the heater to the coolant - water in the wood with good thermal contact, provided by an external press. The compression of the stacked lumber package is carried out by atmospheric pressure through a rubber silicone diaphragm with a force of up to 8000 kg/m. kv, which ensures good thermal contact with heaters, prevents warping of lumber during the drying process and compacts the material, crushing empty cavities freed from moisture. The wood becomes more monolithic, dense and resistant to moisture penetration. It has good insulating properties and sound conductivity, low thermal conductivity. The heating temperature and vacuum are selected in such a way that the removed moisture, moving along the fibers under pressure, does not create stresses leading to cracking of the wood, and the color of the lumber does not change if the drying programs are followed. During the drying process, the wood is not de-resined; its decay products preserve the surface layers, which allows the wood to be stored for a longer period before use. The drying process is controlled by a controller based on data from humidity and temperature sensors installed in the bottom, middle and top layers of wood.
Scope of application: Manufacturing and testing of industrial equipment, woodworking and furniture production of various profiles. Disposal chambers for medical and industrial waste. Category of operating conditions UHL4 according to GOST 15150-69.

Press vacuum chambers
As previously mentioned, oven variation plays a huge role in the work process. Fortunately, today's market gives users a huge selection of such equipment. Each person can look for something to suit their taste, especially since there is plenty to choose from. But it is important to understand that before purchasing, you should thoroughly study the operating principle of different variations of vacuum chambers. In this way, you will protect yourself from bad products, which in terms of efficiency will not be able to prove themselves one hundred percent.
Press vacuum chambers
Now we will look at the features of the operation of different variations of vacuum-based press chambers:
- Vacuum drying chambers - the operating principle of such installations is more suitable for processing expensive types of wood. Although it is also not worth excluding the possibility of using such cameras when processing any other type of wood. Basically, during the work process, the emphasis is on the effect of vacuum and enhancing the work process through its use.
- Convection drying chambers are suitable for drying wood of any type. The same applies to the size, since the dryer has huge dimensions. Due to the simplest possible design, it was possible to greatly simplify the process of servicing such installations and make them very practical to use.
- Aerodynamic chambers - similar press chambers are used in the process of processing large volumes of wood. This is largely due to the design of the camera itself, which resembles a huge metal box.
- Microwave drying chambers - in such vacuum press chambers, expensive raw materials are processed that cannot be processed in other variations of chambers. The operating principle of this camera was developed not so long ago, and therefore is of great interest on the market.
- Dielectric drying chambers are one of the most practical variations of vacuum equipment, allowing the drying process of any type of wood. Problems can arise only in size, since the dimensions of such cameras are not so large.
Based on this information, you can draw certain conclusions for yourself and select those versions of drying chambers that are suitable for use in your area. Fortunately, purchasing such equipment at this stage is very simple. All that is needed for this is the required amount of money, but the rest is done without much effort.
How does vacuum drying of wood occur?
Injecting a vacuum inside the chamber where timber is dried significantly changes the physical nature of heat and mass transfer processes in wood. Drying is carried out by the action of a constant vacuum of 0.95 MPa and steam generated from the moisture of the timber. Since there is a natural movement of the drying agent at a speed of up to 0.3 m/sec, there is no need to use fans, lumber humidification systems, or install a dry/wet thermometer. Drying is controlled by lumber moisture sensors. For example, during the drying of oak lumber from an initial moisture level of 65% to a residual moisture level of 6%, about 450 liters of moisture are released. If you load a maximum of 12 m3 of oak with a thickness of 55 mm into the chamber, the total amount of moisture will reach 5,400 liters.
Today, all companies producing vacuum drying chambers have certificates of compliance with European standards. In such devices you can dry different types of wood at the same time.
Drying quality:
- the residual level of importance is from 6 to 0.5%
- the difference in humidity level across the stack does not exceed 1%
- The difference in humidity level along the thickness and length of the board does not exceed 0.9%.
