The A5M marking is deciphered as follows:

• A – aluminum-based alloy;
• 5 – total impurity content does not exceed 0.5%;
• M – soft annealed metal.

Thus, A5M aluminum sheet is made from technically pure aluminum containing no more than 0.5% impurities. At the last stage of production, it is subjected to an annealing procedure to impart softness, ductility and other properties.

This material is supplied to the customer in the form of sheets with a thickness of 0.3 to 10.5 mm. The width of the sheet is usually 120-150 cm, and the length is 300-400 cm. At the request of the customer, the A5M aluminum sheet can be cut into blanks of the desired shape and size. Varieties of duralumin sheets

• artificially hardened and aged - marked with the “T1” brand, after hardening it ages for about 12 hours at temperatures up to 170 degrees;
• cold-worked - indicated by the index “H” and means that the sheet has undergone deformation compaction and additional rolling in a machine to impart special strength;
• semi-cold-hardened - the “H2” marking means that this is a product of medium strength that can be easily bent;
• cold-worked, hardened and aged – indicated by the signs “TN” and is one of the options for hardened rolled products.

Individuality of the AD1N tape

AD1N is an aluminum alloy containing about 0.7% impurities, the main of which are iron and silicon. Accordingly, these impurities determine slightly different characteristics of a strip made of a given alloy. Thus, the AD1N duralumin tape has greater mechanical strength, but has the least ductility. In addition, its electrical conductivity is also reduced. But it is also the most resistant to brutal environments. The AD1N aluminum tape has greater chemical resistance the less impurities it contains. Only manganese and magnesium do not affect chemical (including corrosion) resistance. Since AD1N duralumin tape is distinguished by its particular mechanical strength, it is usually used in the most severe conditions of brutal environments and excessive loads. In other words, in those cases when the use of another alloy is impractical.
