Catalog of welding machines from the official Cebora dealer

Almost all industrialized countries of the world produce welding equipment for manual and semi-automatic work. On the Russian market, in addition to domestic products, you can find American, Chinese, French, German and Italian welding machines for manual arc welding.

In terms of design and principle of operation, they practically do not differ from each other, however, a professional welder, if given a choice, in most cases will prefer a welding machine from Italy or another European country. What are the benefits of Italian semi-automatic welding machines?

Is it worth choosing “Italian”?

Since the Middle Ages and the Renaissance, Italian craftsmen have held the palm in the processing of metals and the creation of complex machines and units. The Italians have long been known as excellent metallurgists and mechanics, and it has been a matter of honor for them to maintain a high standard in their work to this day.

Italian welding equipment in general, and semi-automatic machines in particular, are distinguished by a high level of reliability due to the high-quality materials from which they are made, careful assembly and a multi-level control system during the entire manufacturing process of the product.

Equipment made in Italy has minimal backlash during rotation of verniers and other moving parts and very high quality of fastening of parts.

All this, combined with a mathematically verified design and components made from the most suitable metals and alloys, provides the semi-automatic machine with a long service life and excellent performance.

European manufacturers, unlike Russian and especially Chinese, do not strive to make their products cheaper at any cost . It was initially designed for a different category of buyers - those for whom reliability and stability in operation combined with a large number of functions are more important than a low price.

The labor of qualified European workers, constantly checked by various quality management systems, is not cheap. But at the same time, due to the influence of various economic factors, Italian semiautomatic welding machines and inverters are cheaper than, for example, French and German ones, not inferior to them in quality and functionality.

Flaws

  • Italian welding machines are more expensive than other models on the domestic market;
  • They do not have as developed a network of support and service centers as that of Russian-made welding inverters;
  • Some models have a limited set of functions, which is a significant drawback for modern inverters.

Types of Italian inverters

Italian inverter-type welding machines are divided into three main types, which in turn can have several models with their own characteristics. Among them are:

  • Inverter for standard welding with coated stick electrodes. This is the simplest type of equipment from the lowest price category. It is intended to work with simple connections that are made manually and do not have high responsibility.
  • Italian semi-automatic welding machine, which uses tungsten infusible electrodes and welding wire as the main consumables. The connections obtained using this technique are much higher quality and reliable, since a gas environment is used to protect it. Semi-automatic devices belong to more professional equipment, although they are used both in the industrial and private spheres.
  • Hybrid inverters that combine welding with conventional electrodes and semi-automatic welding. This helps save space, but if it breaks, it deprives the technician of two devices at once.

Choice

selecting a suitable model is a difficult matter, since it all depends on the purposes for which the device will be used. First of all, you need to decide on the type. If you need to cook simple parts around the house, then it is better to take an ordinary MMA inverter. To create more reliable connections, a semi-automatic device is suitable, but it is more difficult to use. "Important! Hybrid species should in no case be taken for beginners, as they are more expensive and difficult to manage.”

The current value should be approximately at the level of 160-170 A, since lower values will already limit the scope of activity. Inverters rated at 200 A and higher are suitable for professional use. Closely related to the maximum power of the PV current. For home use it should be at least 60%, and for professional use at least 80%.

Many inverters have additional features that improve welding quality. These include arc forced, anti-stick and hot start. The more additional functions a welding machine has, the better for the user. For private use, it is important to have lightweight equipment that has a carrying handle and other useful additions.

Manufacturers

Despite the fact that Italian welding equipment is not so widespread in the domestic market, there are several main manufacturers that are known to local consumers. Among them it is worth noting such brands as:

  • Jimmy;
  • Awelko;
  • Deca;
  • Cebora;
  • Telwin.

For domestic or industrial needs

If we talk about the scope of application, Italian welding inverters mostly occupy the niche of professional devices. They can withstand significant loads - long welding times, frequent switching on/off, and support operation in various modes, with different metals and alloys.

For everyday use, for small jobs around the house and cottage, purchasing an Italian semi-automatic welding machine or inverter may be redundant. Its cheaper Chinese counterpart can cope with the same tasks quite successfully.

It is best to buy an Italian semi-automatic machine for a professional welder, paying attention to the following parameters of the welding device:

  • small dimensions and weight;
  • high level of reliability under long-term loads;
  • a large number of auxiliary functions;
  • possibility of working with cored wire or in a protective gas environment.

Less expensive than their French and German counterparts, but not inferior to them in reliability, an Italian semi-automatic or inverter welding machine will become a reliable assistant.

The disadvantages of the “Italians” include the price, which is still higher than that of their Russian counterparts of similar power and functionality. In addition, most Italian manufacturers of welding machines do not have a developed dealer and service network in Russia.

Advantages

  • The Italian inverter welding machine has a high level of duty cycle, in comparison with other analogues;
  • The equipment stably maintains performance characteristics and retains all mode parameters throughout the entire connection procedure;
  • The assembly of the case is performed at the highest level, so there are no backlashes, no free movement of control knobs, and so on;
  • The Italy welding inverter is equipped with a good cooling system, which helps protect against one of the main problems of this type of equipment;
  • The arc ignites smoothly and without unnecessary problems, which helps maintain the integrity of the workpiece.

Selection principle

You should purchase a semi-automatic welding machine, like other electrical equipment, only in accredited specialized stores that provide a guarantee on the product. The fact is that in Italy, as well as throughout the European Union, the standards of the industrial electrical network differ from the Russian ones.

Imported equipment permitted for sale in our country must have an appropriate certificate certifying that it can operate in our networks. It is not recommended to order a semi-automatic welding machine from a foreign website - it is not a fact that it will be functional in our realities.

Among the most famous Italian manufacturers of semi-automatic welding machines are the following brands:

  • Telwin;
  • Deca;
  • Tecna;
  • Fimer;
  • Ergus;
  • Awelco et al.

They produce welding machines for manual arc welding in a wide range. In particular, they offer inverters for welding with consumable electrodes with a coating that forms a protective gas environment.

In this case, welding occurs without additional additives. From Italian manufacturers you can find machines for working with non-consumable electrodes, for example, tungsten, operating in a protective gas environment of argon or carbon dioxide. The additive is supplied separately.

There are also hybrids with the option of switching from one mode to another. They are the most complex and therefore expensive.

Letter marking

Italian semi-automatic welding machines and inverters are marked on the body with Latin letters, which indicate their functionality, additional modes and options. Similar markings are present on semi-automatic welding machines produced in other European countries.

Thus, a conventional inverter for welding with consumable electrodes is designated by the code MMA and/or DC. A semi-automatic machine for working with alternating current is marked AC, a hybrid - AC/DC.

To work with non-ferrous metals (copper and nickel), as well as some types of stainless steels, the TIG or MIG-MAG mode is used. These three letters mean that the semi-automatic welding machine is designed to work in a gas protective environment or is a hybrid.

Next comes the designation of additional features. ANTI-STICKING is an “anti-sticking” option, with which the electrode does not have to be kept at a distance of 2-5 mm from the weld; it will not weld to it even with physical contact.

HOT START – “hot start”, facilitating ignition of the arc of a semi-automatic welding machine or inverter. The option does not work with all types of electrodes. HF means high frequency ignition.

ARC Forse – diffusion enhancement mode, the so-called “arc force”, means an increase in the penetration coefficient of the filler material into the weld.
